Kyle Rayner, debuted in Green Lantern (Vol. 3) #48 (January 1994), is a significant figure in the DC Comics universe, particularly within the Lantern Corps mythology.
Initially a graphic artist, Rayner unexpectedly became a Green Lantern when he was chosen by the last Guardian of the Universe, Ganthet, to wield the last Green Lantern ring after Hal Jordan's fall. He had no experience as a hero, or in working with the ring but he learned quickly.
Rayner's journey expanded when he gained control of all seven emotional entities of the Lantern Corps. With this incredible power, he briefly transformed into a White Lantern, embodying the entire emotional spectrum. This White Lantern form saw Rayner's costume change to a sleek, chrome-like appearance.
As a White Lantern, Kyle Rayner possessed immense abilities, including control over life and death. Later, he relinquished this power, but remained a key player in the ongoing cosmic conflicts involving the Lantern Corps.
